Following incidents after the Men?s Cupwinners Cup Final 1st leg match between Ciudad Real (ESP) and Flensburg-Handewitt (GER), the EHF Competitions Commission, Body of 1st Instance, herewith announces the following preliminary measures, which come into immediate effect.
The measures relate to the initiators behind the incidents. The case will be reviewed by the Competitions Commission further, based on all relevant evidence. Further proceedings and decisions will concern the suspended persons mentioned-below and additional players and officials involved in this matter. Decisions will be published accordingly.
1. Veselin Vujovic ? Coach of Ciudad Real ? is forbidden from entering any official area, before, during and after international matches. This comes into immediate effect and is valid until further notice.
2. Veselin Vujovic ? Coach of Ciudad Real ? is not allowed to enter the playing arena or any area related to the playing arena at the 2nd leg of the 2001/2002 Cupwinners Cup Final, scheduled to take place on 28 April 2002 at 14:30 in Flensburg, Germany.
3. Roland Urios ? no. 17 of Ciudad Real ? is suspended from participation in international matches. This comes into immediate effect and is valid until further notice.
4. Christian Berge ? no. 24 of Flensburg-Handewitt - is suspended from participation in international matches. This comes into immediate effect and is valid until further notice.
Please note, preliminary decisions are not subject to appeal ? all measures are final and binding. This is in accordance with the EHF Regulations.
